DuoMAX® represents a modern approach in the pharmacological therapy of osteoarthritis, which combines the structural-modifying effect of glucosamine sulphate with the analgesic, anti-inflammatory, anxiolytic and neuroprotective effects of palmitoylethanolamide.

DuoMAX® achieves a superior therapeutic effect – a faster and more potent anti-inflammatory and analgesic effect compared to monocomponent glucosamine sulphate.

DuoMAX® has an additional anxiolytic and neuroprotective effect, which contributes to a more comprehensive treatment of osteoarthritis.

DuoMAX® can be safely combined with NSAIDs (recommended for the first 7-10 days of therapy), but can also be used long-term for chronic pain. PEA in DuoMAX is a safe alternative to NSAIDs, in case of their contraindicated use, in the presence of associated diseases.

Osteoarthritis (OA)

Osteoarthritis (OA) is a degenerative joint disease, which includes structural changes in articular cartilage, subchondral bone, ligaments, capsule, synovial membrane and periarticular muscles, with accompanying chronic inflammation.

OA is the leading cause of joint pain and disability worldwide.

The basis of the pathogenesis of OA is primarily the progressive degradation of cartilage and the local release of proinflammatory cytokines, growth factors and neurotransmitters, which leads to pain.

OA pain contains a nociceptive and neuropathic component.

Glucosamine sulphate (GS)

Glucosamine sulphate (GS) is a precursor for glucosaminoglycans (GAG), the main component of cartilage.

GS 1500 mg is in the first step of the pharmacological treatment of osteoarthritis, according to the ESCEO algorithm.

GS achieves anabolic (promotes cartilage renewal), anti-catabolic (slows cartilage degradation) and anti-inflammatory (controls the complete cascade triggered by inflammatory stimuli) effect.

Only GS in a single dose of 1500 mg in the synovial fluid achieves the necessary mean inhibitory concentration (greater than 6.2 µmol), for the complete blockade of IL 1β and IL-6.

Palmitoylethanolamide (PEA)

Palmitoylethanolamide (PEA) is an endogenous fatty acid amide, N-acylethanolamine, which is synthesized in the body in response to damage or inflammation.

Clinical studies have confirmed that PEA has anti-inflammatory, analgesic and neuroprotective effects. In addition, PEA has a positive effect on the removal of damaged tissue and healing, thus contributing to the preservation of joint structure and function.

In the treatment of osteoarthritis, according to clinical studies, PEA leads to a significant reduction of pain and stiffness in the joints and improves their function, with a significant reduction in the use of analgesics. At the same time, it leads to a significant reduction of anxiety.

Method of use (dosage):

Adults: Dissolve 1 sachet a day in a glass of water and drink.

Duration of application: minimum 3 months.
